Artist statement
My work moves through culture, healing and service, rooted in a desire to give back to the community. A big part of that is contributing to the shaping of Filipino American Art — in how it looks and in how it speaks.
I use my work as a tool for dialogue: to ask questions, challenge norms and tell stories; and I aim to carry the virtues that art invites into spaces where people can benefit from them.
Art and healing are deeply connected. Rather than preaching that connection, I want to live it. I want to build a language where care, creativity, and service are central to how we treat people, shape systems, and share knowledge. The art I aspire to create is grounded in that purpose — in service of something greater than myself.
