MODEL MINORITY

"Model Minority" confronts the quiet burden of labels imposed by society—labels that, over time, become self-imposed limitations. The tiger, marked with Filipino bayanihan-inspired script resembling calligraphy and stripes, paints a circle around itself as a boundary. Though surrounded by verdant grass, its bloodied feet show the cost of never stepping beyond. With one head gazing outward and another staring directly at the viewer, the piece challenges us to question the narratives we’ve accepted as truth and asks: who drew the line, and why are we still inside it?
